The Family
- The Mitchells have been farming in Kent, ‘the garden of England’, since 1894.
- From 1923 to 1972 the family ran a thriving fruit and vegetable stall on the south-west corner of old Covent Garden market in London.
- In 2002, 30 acres of lavender was planted on the farm – one of the largest plantations in the country.
- Mitchell and Peach is run by a father-and-son partnership – Ian and Jod Mitchell (photographed below with Chloe and Oliver).
- The family is planning rose (rosa centifolia) and violet (viola odorata) plantations.
As an exciting rural enterprise, Mitchell and Peach is delighted to enjoy the support of:
The Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) is funded by Defra and the EU. The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD): Europe investing in rural areas.
